Altmühl river is a tributary of the Danube and it flows through a beautiful area that also includes some places we visited before, such as Weltenburg Abbey and Kelheim. One of the cutest place we found while going around in that area is Essing, a very picturesque small village situated at the bottom of a Franconian Jura rocky formation. After stopping at the Burg Prunn and admiring the views from above, we ended up in Riedenburg, where most places were closed due to Covid lockdown.
