Weltenburg Abbey and Kelheim

Weltenburg Abbey is relatively close to Munich (about 1 hour) so it was another one of our weekend trips. I wanted to visit it because of its Asam church and because it seemed to have a really nice location, on the Danube. Unfortunately, you cannot really walk much on the Danube from there but the place was definitely worth visiting!

The church is, of course, as impressive as expected. The restaurant was also nice.

After visiting the Abbey we went towards Kelheim . The goal was to get on the other side of the Abbey to get some photos but we ended up at the Hall of Liberation (Befreiungshalle) instead. Quite an impressive monument! We went inside and then upstairs to get the view of Danube from above 🙂
