Just about 1 hour away from Munich is Landsberg am Lech, quite a small town that turned out to be another highlight during our October vacation daytrips.
The town has become an important centre in the 13-14th century, being situated on the salt path coming from Bad Reichenhall. It has quite a few medieval buildings left as well as many town gates. The Bayertor, dating from the 14th century, has been recently restored and looks amazing. The town has a lovely riverside walk and many lovely streets going uphill.
