Beautiful city on the river Main in North-West Bavaria (Franconia area). The place has a long history, going back to Celts and Romans. There are lovely views from the Marienburg fortress, where there used to be a Bronze Age settlement. The Residence is very beautiful but, unfortunately, no photos were allowed inside. Very annoying as this is the first place where we had that. The city was heavily destroyed by the British air raid in 1944 (including the Residence) and it took decades to restore it.
