This is a very impressive Benedictine abbey near Memmingen, about 1 hour from Munich. The abbey was originally founded in 764 and at some point in its history it became very powerful (1299), as one of the 40 Imperial abbeys. We visited the beautiful Baroque church of the abbey, dating from the 18th century.
