In Dec/Jan 2014 we went to see the fireworks in London. Given how crazy it used to get, we booked a dinner at Wagamama, one of the restaurants at Royal Festival Hall. It should have been a great place for watching, but it started raining and it was quite cold, so we did not enjoy it very much. Plus, trying to get away from the area turned out to be difficult, as they closed lots of streets around and Waterloo station and guided everyone on one street going towards Southwark. It felt quite dangerous, frankly, and that was the last time we went to seer the fireworks live in London. They are much more enjoyable on TV 😉
On New Year’s Day we went to see a ‘traditional’ concert at the Barbican. All a bit too nationalistic but good fun 🙂
